Consultation on Proposed Academisation
At the most recent Governing Board meeting (December 2025), governors agreed to begin a formal process for Lowerplace Primary School to convert to academy status, with the intention of joining Hollingworth Learning Trust (HLT).
This decision follows three terms of fact finding and information gathering about the current educational landscape, financial challenges in schools and the opportunities available for Lowerplace through joining the right Multi Academy Trust (MAT).
As a result of this work, we now have a very detailed knowledge and understanding of the vision, values and capabilities of HLT to support and enhance the work we do at Lowerplace ensuring the very best of provision for our pupils in the future.
Lowerplace Primary School has therefore entered a four-week consultation regarding our proposal to join Hollingworth Learning Trust.
As part of this process, we are sharing information with local schools and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and invite any comments, questions, or feedback they may wish to provide. The consultation period will run from Monday 5th January 2025 to Friday 23rd January 2026.
